The Two Things I Miss Most About Childhood!

Hey, everyone!  I know I have been gone for a little while.  I have been out of the state, and have not had a lot of time to spare.

I just wanted to talk about life, and time.  I think time is one of the most underappreciated things in people’s lives, and people let life fly by.

When I was younger, I used to always wish I was older.  I hated being young.  When you are just a child, you think that you are just as smart as any adult, and that you are deserving of everyone’s respect.  However, nobody pay’s that much attention to the opinions of a child, so most children wish that they were in positions of respect (aka, adults).  However, what children do not realize is that being young is the easiest time (or should be) in an individual’s life.

However, now that I am older…I want to go back to childhood!  As you grow older, you realize that time waits for no one, and that there is so much wasted time in childhood.  Think back to when you were a kid.  Think of all the things you could have done during that time…kinda sad, isn’t it?

I miss two things from childhood.  The first is…

Lack of Worry

When I was a kid, I did not have a filter.  I am not saying that I cursed, because my household had a strict rule against “Naughty” words.  However, I spoke my mind with whoever I saw.  It was not always pretty.  I remember once when my grandfather gave a hairbrush to my sister for her birthday, I said that she already had that exact same hairbrush already.  Looking back, I feel bad for saying it.  However, I miss even more the lack of worrisome that I had as a child.  I did not care what others thought of me, even if I did make a fool of myself from time to time.  Now-a-days, people are so worried about impressing everyone, and being friends with every single person.  I wish not having to worry about offending anyone, or not really caring whether people liked me or not.

The second thing I miss about childhood is…

Opportunity

As a child, you can become anyone you want to be.  If you want to be a firefighter, you can dream and become a firefighter.  If you wanted to be a sports athlete, you could practice throwing baseballs all day.  Your opportunities are limitless!  You can be whatever you dreamed you wanted to be, or at least, had the possibility to dream that you could.  Now, I am too old to become a famous athlete.  I cannot reverse the decisions I made, and the older I become, the more doors close.  Aging may just be a number, but the amount of opportunities continues to decrease as years go by.

As a child, life is an opportunity itself!

However, that’s enough about me reminiscing the “good ol’ days”.  Looking at the past will achieve nothing in life, except for topics for blog posts, I guess.

Have a great week, and again, I have an activity-filled week.  See you later, everyone!
